Andrea graduated from Waikato University in 2011 and was admitted to the bar later in 2012. Andrea commenced practising in Conveyancing and Estates in Timaru for 3 years before moving to London. Once in London, Andrea was employed as a foreign qualified lawyer at a small boutique media law firm, specialising in Film and TV, in particular, media financing. After 5 years in the UK, Andrea returned to New Zealand in July 2020 and now calls Tauranga home. Andrea has found her specialty in Family and Litigation.
In July 2023 Andrea was elected to serve on the Waikato Bay of Plenty Law Society District Council. This is a 2 year term in which Andrea will be advocating for the views of the local body in law reform, practice rules, maintaining the public register of lawyers, issuing practising certificates and managing the Lawyer Complaints Service.
Andrea considers it a privilege to assist clients through employment disputes, relationship breakdowns, parenting arrangements and advocating for clients during what can be an extremely difficult time for them. A key aspect of Andrea’s work is helping clients to navigate the court system. Andrea’s practice also includes applications pursuant to the Protection of Property and Personal Rights Act 1988, working to establish care arrangements for people who have lost capacity.
Andrea mostly works in the Tauranga branch but does work in the Te Puke branch once a fortnight.
