Tom completed his law degree at Victoria University and was admitted to the bar in 2007. He started his legal career in Wanganui , before moving to the Bay of Plenty in 2011.
Tom has a broad range of experience in litigation and dispute resolution across general civil; estate and trusts; criminal defence; and employment law. Tom represents individuals, small businesses and large multi-national corporations and has appeared on civil and property rights disputes in the District Court, High Court and Court of Appeal, as well as representing clients in the Employment Relations Authority.
BCH Lawyers are strong advocates for alternative dispute resolution options, for example mediation. Such options can greatly assist in avoiding Court altogether by providing a cost effective way of getting the parties talking.
Tom has a wide range of experience in representing clients in complex dispute negotiations, including at both privately arranged mediations and Court initiated settlement conferences.
