Members filled the modern office space in Monmouth House and enjoyed drinks and a delicious spread of canapes – superbly catered for by Kex Kitchen – while connecting with others.
Burley Castle Hawkins Lawyers are a friendly, highly regarded, and well-established law firm, who offer expert legal care and trusted advice for businesses, families and individuals across family law, business law, property law and civil litigation. Their moto “we’re on your side” was very evident as members of the team gave us some insight into their work and the service they provide.
Director Nikki Burley extended a very warm welcome and introduced Senior Solicitor Jude Spicer from the property team, who spoke about how they work collaboratively as a team as well as with other professionals to help clients.
Carlie Christie, Solicitor from the Trusts team, spoke about the changes to the Trust Act 2019 and the increased interest from clients wanting to understand the implications. The team is well qualified to guide and support people through the process and she recommends getting good advice right from the beginning.
Andrea Fraser, Solicitor, focussed on employment law and sited a recent restraint of trade case involving a well-known journalist, giving insight on how it was litigated and the outcome.
Holly Hawkins, Director, spoke about the complex issues in family law. She quoted the judge’s words from a recent high court ruling and said, “For a lawyer, it’s really quite exciting” which resulted in an outburst of laughter from everyone in the room. There was a strong sense with Holly and the BCH team, you are in very capable and caring hands on all these delicate and complex matters.
There was a business card draw with a difference. Attendees had four jars to choose from to place their business card – each with a different prize on the label. The prizes where: a bottle of Moet, a free Will, a free EPOA and a bottle of wine.
Thank you to Nikki and the Team at BCH for hosting this superb event.
